Get ready for the Grand Finale: ArtEMi Project enters its final stretch!
Our project!
The ArtEMi project aims to foster social inclusion for migrant women and marginalized groups via art therapy, storytelling, and activities boosting self-esteem, self-entrepreneurship, and employment prospects. Engaging diverse organizations at local, national, and European levels, our outcomes will feature the ArtEMi Toolkit, Occupability Guidelines, and Support Practices.
Partners’ meeting in Patras, Greece
The ArtEMi project partners gathered for their third in-person meeting in Patras on May 8th and 9th.
We had dynamic discussions on our PRs, the Toolkit, the Occupability Guidelines and the Support Practices, and we crafted a robust plan to guarantee the quality of our results and amplify their impact to a wider audience.
Οur meetings went beyond just business!
We had the opportunity to test one of our innovative methodologies targeted to migrant women, developed by Ms. Nataliya Dovhopol. The “Sensitive Writing: Food, Community, and Joy” session was a resounding success! This creative writing methodology inspires participants to immerse themselves in sensory-based exercises, enhancing their storytelling skills and providing therapeutic reflection on their experiences.
The sensitive writing session proved that our group is a supportive community, a safe space to express ourselves freely and gain self-confidence through our work!
Partners’ meeting in Rome, Italy
Our final meeting was held in Rome– where it all started back in October- on July 19th and 20th.
We are excited to announce that we have successfully navigated the final stages of the ArtEMi project and have reviewed and finalized our project results.
We also explored the opportunities for the sustainability of our project and the potential for applying our methodologies in various contexts.

Our Italian partners, DUN and SMP, proudly presented the ArtEMi project, along with our activities and results, at the annual film festival “S-CAMBIAMO IL MONDO” organized by the DUN Association on June 2nd at the Casa del Cinema in Rome. Curated by Ms. Barbara Massimilla, the festival focuses on promoting free psychological care for migrants, refugees, and especially women victims of trafficking and violence.
During the festival, the short documentary “Welcome to the River” was screened. Produced during DUN’s piloting phase, the film features women who have survived trafficking, using sand play therapy, and has received the patronage of Amnesty International Italy. Additionally, workshops developed during the pilot phase by both organizations were showcased, along with the beautiful artworks created in the tailoring workshops on the theme “River of Life“.
Our Greek partner, DAFNI KEK, made a special presentation of the ArtEMi project on June 6th at Lipasmata Multifunctional Park (Workers Park) in Athens. The event was held in two phases. The first phase featured a sunset photowalk in Drapetsona with the theme “Old, New, and Renewed”, lead by Ms. Nataliya Dovhopol with the participation of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Athens. The second phase included an open discussion on “Art as a Means of Women’s Empowerment.”
We were also honored to have Ms. Magda Roussis, MA Visual Artist, participate in the event with her insightful speech, “Aristophanes’ Lysistrata: Woman as a Lever of Change“.
“As we approach the final stretch of our project, we are thrilled to share our publications and unique methodologies with you! The piloting phase has been an enlightening journey, transforming our understanding of our target group, migrant women.”

Nataliya Dovhopol.
Κατά τη διάρκεια του φεστιβάλ προβλήθηκε το ντοκιμαντέρ μικρού μήκους «Welcome to the River».
